Cool Fact: The Grevy's zebra is the largest and most narrowly striped of the zebra species. Zebras inhabit grassy or shrubby terrain in Africa and they are exceptionally social. Grouping range from two to several theories for function of the zebra's stripes. One is that the stripes make it hard for a charging lion to single out a single zebra in a big herd.  Zebras, like most herbivores, have monocular vision, meaning that their eyes are located on the sides of their head. This is a good adaptation that enables them to eat and keep a look out for predators. The number of Grevy's zebra has been drastically reduced because their beautiful coats are prized by some as rugs and wall hanging.
